Draw Terrain Cross-sections
Use this function to draw the terrain cross-sections along the desired (source) line. The cross-sections will be drawn in one column.
The source line can be:
an alignment/object from the terrain model
an
ASCII file with the alignment data (*.TIT, *.LIN, *.DAT, *.INH, and *.LI)
a line/arc/polyline or alignment from the current drawing
Procedure
Run the function from the following locations:
MOUS_ICO
Toolbar: Draw Cross-sections:

Draw Terrain Cross-sections
MOUS_ICO
Menu: Railway > Draw Cross-sections > Draw Terrain Cross-sections…
The dialog Select Horizontal Alignment will pop up.
Step 1 - Source Line, Calculation Settings, and Subsurface Information:
Calculation Settings
Define how to calculate the terrain profile
Calculation Interval: Define the interval for cross-section along the source line
Calculation width: Define the extent (on both sides left/right) across the source line, for which the terrain data is to be fetched for terrain points. Thus obtained terrain points will be interpolated for terrain elevation at each cross-section. Further details - refer
Draw Terrain Cross-sections
Terrain Calculation: Select if terrain surface should present all priorities together, or only the compound/resulting terrain surface based on the current priorities.
Specify the materials for top surface and subsurface layers. This information will be used by the drawing styles to draw materials in specific layers.
Click the button Next to define the presentation settings and the additional features that are to be included in the cross-sections. The dialog Draw Cross-section will pop up.
Step 2 - Presentation Settings and Additional Features
Tips:
Relevant help text (quick help) for the active parameter is displayed at the bottom of the dialog.
Double click on the parameter set heading OR single click on the + / - sign to expand / collapse the parameter set.
The active Quadri model, start chainage, and end chainage of the source line will be displayed at Quadri Model Info. To change the Quadri model, exit the function and run the function Select design task.
Cross-section Selection:
Drawing Settings:
Define insertion point of the first cross-section. Use the ellipse button to pick the insertion point from the current drawing
Section width: Cross-section width that is to be presented
Vertical spacing: Spacing between adjacent cross-sections in the drawing
Vertical exaggeration: Ratio of horizontal scale to vertical scale
Additional Drawing Objects:
Mark the check box of respective option to include it in the cross-sections
Other alignments: Includes the other alignments available in the active terrain model
Wireframes: Includes the other wireframes that are available in the active terrain model
Existing objects: Include the existing objects available in the active terrain model
Drawing style setting:
Preview of the cross-section with the active drawing style is displayed at Cross-section Preview
Execute the function with the button Draw
