Novapoint Viewer

User Guide

The Novapoint Viewer is basically the same application as Novapoint Base, but with the following distinct differences:

• The model is “Read Only” - i.e. it is not possible to create or edit information.

• The message “The program can't start because MSVCP120.dll is missing from Your computer” may pop up when Novapoint Viewer is started. To solve this issue, download and install vcredist_x64.exe from: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784.

If you wish to change the language of the application, it can be changed by doing the following steps:

• Locate your installation folder - e.g. “C:\Program Files\Vianova\Novapoint\Viewer\19.30”
• Locate the file “Novapoint.ConfigSwitcher.exe”
• Change the <configuration> and <language> to your desired settings
• Start the Novapoint Viewer

You can also change the language by adding a parameter to a short-cut file:

• Find the short-cut file, activate right-click menu, select “Properties”
• Target will display “C:\Program Files\Vianova\Novapoint Viewer\NovapointViewer.exe”
• Add -language:eng to the end of the string
• “C:\Program Files\Vianova\Novapoint Viewer\NovapointViewer.exe” -language:eng
• Press “Apply”

The following languages are supported:

• -language:eng = english
• -language:nor = norwegian
• -language:swe = swedish
• -language:dan = danish
• -language:fin = finnish
• -language:fra = french (partly)

• Topics is not loaded by default due to a screen scaling problem. The issue does not affect all computors. To test Novapoint Viewer with Topics - start the application with the included shortcut “Novapoint Viewer - Topics”.

There is currently no interface for changing the language of the application, but it can be changed by doing the following steps:

• Find the desktop icon, activate right-click menu, select “Properties”
• Target will display “C:\Program Files\Vianova\Novapoint Viewer\NovapointViewer.exe”
• Add -language:nor to the end of the string
• “C:\Program Files\Vianova\Novapoint Viewer\NovapointViewer.exe” -language:nor
• Press “Apply”
